The attractive core properties of PROFILEN® PTFE yarns have been successfully used and appreciated for many years in various fields of medical technology and the corresponding products. The strong demand impressively showed us the great potential of PTFE. And so, we also included the precursor product, PTFE film, in our product range. Since then, our medical film has found preferred use in products that must not adhere or fuse with human tissue.
PROFILEN® PTFE film and tapes - biocompatible and versatile

The extremely variable high-performance plastic proves unrivaled in a wide range of medical products – from biocompatible textiles to implants, vascular prostheses, membranes, etc. PTFE film owes this versatility to its special material properties, which can be influenced as required, its technically diverse processing options and its long service life. PTFE film and tapes are extremely chemically resistant and well tolerated.
The most outstanding property of this medical film, however, is its smooth, anti-adhesive surface. This reduces displacement forces during surgery, the undesirable adhesion of biofilms and the formation of blood clots. In addition, PTFE film can be bonded to other components such as in artificial heart valves, endoscopes, stents, etc. by means of bonding or welding.
