Finding niche solutions and developing unique products are among the activities that distinguish Lenzing Plastics to a special degree. We supply customers worldwide with special PTFE products, be it sinking braided fishing lines or yarns for engine development. Our in-house research and development department never stands still: existing products are continuously optimized, new ones developed. Lenzing PROFILEN® PTFE: uniquely versatile
With Lenzing PROFILEN® PTFE, we have created a high-quality material that has exceptional properties: PTFE is chemically inert, heat and cold resistant, water and dirt repellent, UV resistant, non-flammable, anti-adhesive as well as biocompatible and also has an extremely low coefficient of friction. Thanks to these advantages, Lenzing PROFILEN® PTFE has already proven its worth in numerous industries, and the product range is huge. Nevertheless, there is always room for the development of new products and solutions – because innovation is our priority.
Special applications of Lenzing PROFILEN® PTFE
Environmentally friendly braided fishing lines with PTFE
The high specific gravity of PTFE (up to 2.2 g/cm³) makes it the perfect material for sinking braided fishing lines. The lines sink by their own weight alone, so there is no need to use highly questionable lead paste. In addition, Lenzing PROFILEN® PTFE yarns are absolutely hydrophobic, stain resistant, UV resistant and durable even in salt water. To provide more variety and meet individual preferences, we manufacture PTFE cords in different colors, gladly on request.
