Compression Packings Hybrid Yarns
Strong Muscle, gentle touch - Lenzing PTFE hybrid yarns.
Unless applications involve highly abrasive media, high-strength aramide-packings have more draw-backs than benefits: scoring or grooving of sleeves or shafts being the most important and costliest disadvantage.
For the majority of applications, a combination of high-strength aramide and PTFE are certainly adequate and far less damaging - whereby the conventional combinations of yarns in the braid also have their limitations. Lenzing Plastics offers here a range of white as well as graphited PTFE filament yarns with
- TECHNORA® high-strenght Aramide
- PROCON® PPS (Polyphenylensulfide)
- NOMEX® m-aramide and
- Glass-filament
as reinforcement in an intimate blend.
These yarns provide a matrix-reinforcement of the packing, i.e. excellent sealability and universal chemical resistance of a PTFE yarn with increased and for most environements adequate abrasion resistance.
